We are pleased to announce our new Central CREWS blog. This
will be the place to find the latest information on upcoming trips, service
opportunities and groups. In addition, it will be an online resource for 50+
adults on all types of topics including technology, health, local events,

CREWS in Service
There are many opportunities for the 50+ ministry, CREWS, to serve in our community.
CCC’s “Food for the Soul Kitchen.” - We gather quarterly to serve others at the CCC's soup kitchen.
Angel Chain - This is a way to check on members with a
phone call in times of crisis.
Birthday CREWS - We will prepare and mail cards to the 50+ adults who have upcoming birthdays.
Pick-Up CREWS - We will be divided into teams to provide rides to senior members who can’t get to a church service or a class without assistance.
Receptionists - The Central office is always in need of receptionists. You can volunteer in the morning or afternoon and assist in answering phone calls and doing other small tasks.
Travel CREWS
The CREWS will travel to New Orleans June 20-23! Come and
join us for this trip to The Big Easy. We will leave from Birmingham Wednesday,
June 20 at 12:08 PM, and arrive in New Orleans at 7:32 PM. While in New
Orleans, we will stay at the Renaissance New Orleans Pere Marquette Hotel. We
will leave New Orleans Saturday, June 23 at 7:00 AM, returning to Birmingham at
2:15 PM.
The cost for the hotel is $240 for 3 nights (with two per
room). The round-trip train ticket is $95/person. (If we need to take the
church bus to Birmingham, there will be a small charge for this.)
Club CREWS
Soup Group & Bible Study: Each Wednesday our Soup Group Meets at 11am for aerobic exercise and lunch (soup, cornbread, congealed salad, dessert, and tea!) followed by our Bible Study. We are studying Nurturing a Heart of Humility by Elizabeth George. In August, we will begin our next study, Pursuing Godliness by Elizabeth George.
Monday Movie Matinees: Each month, we will gather at the Monaco to catch the latest movie at the Monday matinee.
