Serve our Community
There are many opportunities to reach
out and share with those in need in our community. We highlight these agencies in the hope that you and your family will find ways to share
the love of Christ in action this year.
Promise House (Christmas gift that gives twice)
It’s getting close to Christmas, and here is a gift idea that blesses twice. Promise Homes is related to the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church and provides caring homes for the intellectually challenged. A gift of at least $10 in honor or memory of a friend or family member blesses that individual as well as those living in one of our Promise Homes. Send your gift by December 15 to: Promise Homes, PO Box 1927, Decatur, AL 35602. You will receive an acknowledgement of your gift, and a card will be sent to the person you are gifting so they will receive it before Christmas. If you prefer to send the cards yourself, we will mail you the number of cards you request.

How you can help for the holidays

Adopt a teen from the angel tree in the fountain area at Central. Wrapped and labeled presents should be brought to the Volunteer Center by November 29.
Can-A-Thon is the annual food can collection that provides food to local agencies in Morgan County to help people in our community. This year’s date is December 8. Start now collecting canned goods! Volunteers will also be needed the day of the Can-A-Thon. Contact The Volunteer Center if you can help.
Holiday Hope Chest provides little treasure boxes to brighten the holidays of youth in Morgan County. Wrapped and labeled shoeboxes are due at the Volunteer Center on November 29. There may also be a need for volunteers to distribute the Holiday Hope Chests. If you missed the Shoeboxes for Honduras, here is your chance to brighten someone’s Christmas!
